Lecture Recitals

I’ve given bespoke lecture recitals at universities, symposiums, and private and corporate events. These were especially designed for the event and the public. I really enjoy this work.

A lecture recital is an informative concert with a theme. It includes live performance and a lecture, workshop, or speech. It’s a great way to learn more about music.

For me, it combines my love of singing and musicology and allows me to share my passion for both with others.

It’s also a fantastic way to introduce people to unfamiliar music which might be out of their comfort zone. By putting the music in an accessible context, I find it’s possible to open people’s ears.

Highlights include:

– “From Dowland to Sting: English Poetry and Song” with guitarist Robert Sinha, in Budapest.

– The history of remembrance in the UK, at the Guards’ Remembrance Association symposium.

– Music of the First and Second World Wars in a private members’ club.

– Lectures on levels of meaning in English poetry and song at Sapientia University, Romania.

Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in a lecture recital.
