Consultancy

Music consultancy includes working with clients to find music to create the right flow of atmospheres and to highlight key messages during their events.

Having studied musicology, composition, and church music, I am well aware of the power of music, especially in the context of liturgy, theatre, and film. I love working with clients to apply this sensitivity to their events.

As a singer, I understand the practicalities of live performance and the needs of musicians. My work in remembrance has given me a sensitivity for protocol. I enjoy working behind the scenes and finding the best artists for an event.

Used well, music is a powerful tool. It can direct the public’s attention in both time and space. It can be used to create atmospheres, highlight messages, and suggest a time for silence or a time for social interaction.

Recent highlights include planning four ceremonies in Normandy, France, for the eightieth anniversary of D-Day with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and planning the music for the Dutch artist Casper Faassen‘s twenty-year retrospective exhibition in the Netherlands. For the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation, I designed a fundraising concert in Westport, Ireland, using music and text to tell the story of the foundation. In 2023 I researched historically-fitting music for the reopening of the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme. In 2024, I helped plan the Order of Service for the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation‘s Christmas Carol Service at the Guards’ Chapel in London.

I’m currently working behind the scenes programming music and orders of service for the World Rugby Memorial’s events marking the eightieth anniversary of VE Day in Lincoln, UK and Arras, France in May 2025.
