I love English Song, especially from the early twentieth century. The music is lyric and accessible, composed with great respect for the text.

I’ve been quietly programming English Song in the Netherlands for years, as I feel it deserves to be better known here on the continent. There is a wealth of beautiful and inspiring repertoire which I’ve made it something of a mission to share.

On 24th June, Lieselotte and I will perform a programme with Britten, Vaughan Williams, Amy Summers, and Michael Head at Theater aan de Schie in Schiedam. It’s a free lunchtime concert starting at 12:15.
